By using high cams and reinforced valve springs, the genuine chain guide creates a strong load on the chain and damage the chain guide with large frictional force. This causes problems such as friction loss, chain guide wear, and valve timing delays, leading to horsepower loss. This idler gear replaces the chain guide with a reinforced needle roller bearing type sprocket that is resistant to high loads and high RPMs, thereby maintaining good valve timing, less friction loss, and improving high output and high RPMs.
