Ikuo Kawashima, took early retirement in 2011 from an automotive parts manufacturing company where he had worked for many years.

He was involved in development for automotive automatic transmissions (including multi-speed and CVT). He specialized in press molding, developing techniques for press-forming (cold forging) automatic transmission gear parts. 

His forte was the development of techniques for pressing thin sheets of metal (approximately 4mm) into gear and spline shapes, fine blanking, TRF press molding, and PRG press molding.

He also uses CAD, NC Machining, process design, machining technology, EDM technology, and measurement technology (3D measurement) for all his products.

His specialty and extremely high skills in vintage car restoration is well recognized in Japan.
